Refined Hook Concept

After hearing the feedback for my hook concepts, I summed up the scores and divided them by the number of entries to get the average of each. Here are the results:  


Concept 1:

Group Score - 16.1

Individual Score - 15

Concept 2:

Group Score - 17

Individual Score - 16

Concept 3:

Group Score - 17.5

Individual Score - 17

Concept 4:

Group Score - 17.6

Individual Score - 18

Concept 5: 

Group Score - 14

Concept 6:

This is the final ranking of the concepts based on the group feedback:

Based on my own personal opinion, here is an alternative ranking of the concepts:

With this in mind, I've decided to further elaborate and refine the fourth concept that I've come up with. Here are the inicial sketches:



Here is the inicial model that I've created using Rhino:













I decided to change the way it is supposed to be hung on a wall, as the feedback I received made realize it didn't make much sense. In the current model, it can be attached to a screw by just putting the hole through it. This also makes the hook itself a lot sturdier on the wall.

Coat Hook Concepts

 Concept 1: For this concept, I had to add more details in comparison to the other ones, as it is more difficult to understand on paper. I also made a second, more complex version (shown at the top right of the image). I was going for something following a checkered retro style, and ended up adding some extra parts in order to give it structure and actually connect all of its parts. Due to it being hollow on the back (as illustrated), it would be easy to hang on a wall. Concept 2: For this concept, I went for something playful, and can be used both as decoration and a hook. Perhaps it could even be placed next to an umbrella stand! I also experimented with different cover lengths, as seen above. Lastly, I added a hollow space on the back of the umbrella handle in order for it to be easily hung on a wall. Concept 3: For this concept, I was going for something minimalistic.
